Summary

"I've learned about true love now, all thanks to the devotion of my beloved Clarice." The duchess Eleanor is informed by Crown Prince Leandre that her engagement has been broken off, with this fact having been exposed to the eyes of high society. In order to heal her broken heart, she heads to a summer retreat, and there she meets Prince Clovis, who has abdicated his position as crown prince in order to avoid political strife. He treats Eleanor kindly, as if to help relieve her heartbreak... Meanwhile, Leandre and Clarice have come to the retreat on a prenuptial trip. They propose to Eleanor that she become Leandre's mistress. Eleanor is driven to fury and despair, but Clovis comes to her rescue! "I know you must be hurting... but it's all right now."
